History of our LADA (third)

Hello friends, today I would like to tell you about the different family models in the Classic or Zhiguli, are grouped in this family because they all have the same origin, Fiat 124 and Lada derived from the first model: the Lada 2101 .

The common characteristics all cars of this family would be:
  • front engine 4-cylinder in line water cooled provisions longitudinally and camshaft only the head (2 valves per cylinder)

  • manual gearbox also longitudinal (4 or 5 speed but the reverse)
  • trasmicion cardan shaft power to the rear axle

  • rear wheel drive and differential
  • suspension by springs HELIX (reinforced)

  • disc brakes on the front wheels and drum rear aluminum in

  • hydraulic shock damping to 4 2 axle rigid chassis

  • compound for steel of very good thickness and anticorrosion treatment typical of the countries that have ice and snow
  • very simple mechanism designed to allow the user to "meddle"

  • as mechanics, manufacturing and spare parts are very similar knowledge of the generalities of a model can work in another without significant inconvenience
sedan versions are produced 4-door 5-door rural and even versions "rare" in pickups and SUV 4x2 (not imported to Europe).

Let us see the different models:

2101

the first model in the Classic, was manufactured between 1970 and 1983, initially had a 1200cc engine (60 HP) but I get to have 1500cc engines (75 HP) The box was 4 velocidades.Tenia a handle to aid in starting at very low temperatures (-25 Celsius!)

2102
rural version of 2101, was manufactured from 1972 through 1986

2103

this car is the first luxury version of the series and derived from the Fiat 124 Speciale featuring a 1500cc engine (75 HP) with certain mechanical advances with respect to the 2101. Had double headlights and a more luxurious interior. Was manufactured between 1972 and 1984.

2106
Vaz in 1976 introduced an updated version of 2103, with slightly different interior and a new 1600cc engine (76 HP). Was manufactured between 76 and 2001. Its engine is the 1.6 that drives many of our Lada 2105, 2104 and 2107 here in Latin America and in fact were imported into our continent in the early 80's and early 90's. This model is highly sought after because of its classic style and sophistication of their internal details.

2105

known

Russia as the "five", is looking to have a more modern style in harmony with the style of the 80's, new bodywork and unique square headlights also made squares. It has a more modern interior anteriores.Esta versions powered by 1200cc carburettor engines (60 HP), 1300 (65 HP), 1500 cc (75 HP) and up to 1600 cc (from 2106) with 76 HP.

more modern variants possess 5-speed gearbox, computer-controlled electronic ignition and catalytic converter. I start production in 1980 and still continues to occur. One of the models imported to Europe and also one of the most commonly seen on the street.

2107 Deluxe Version 2105, the "seven" as it is known in Russia began to be produced in 1982, has more refined interior than the 2105, with best seats, a more modern torpedo tachometer and econometrics. The motorization is from 1300cc, 1500cc, 1600cc and 1700cc up version (80 HP) with single point injection system manufactured by General Motors. As a curiosity the front of the car has a style "Mercedes" with a big chrome grille and that this mark was much appreciated by the upper class sovietica.Es a model that is also matter much in these countries in the 90's but not looks so much like the 2105.

2104

In 1984 was released the latest member of the family classic, the rural version of 2105, with 5 doors, sharing engine, gearbox and most of its parts with the latter. Much was imported to Europe and is seen on the streets in a manner similar to the "five." Its users claim that can be overloaded with security and is generally used for work and ride.
