Identification of types of models

Hello again! Today I wanted to talk about the identification of different types within the four classic models that circulate in our countries.

Within these models (2104 / 2105 / 2106 / 2107) we have different types that differ from one another usually by the year they were manufactured, the factory that manufactures and type of motor / gearbox they have, besides other details such as type of ignition, carburetor type, etc.

As they are made over a long time these cars have some differences when it comes to maintenance, purchase parts, make adjustments, etc.. are really important.

find key data so that we can identify the type of car are:

  • the car's serial number or VIN number
  • the engine serial number

Both may be found in the same car, the first printing in the chassis and the second in the engine block as I show below:






The right plate is the VIN number and other data including the type of engine are (Dato important: set the motor type plate is the same type we have installed!)

The VIN number is the serial number of each car LADA characteristic, is composed of data from the manufacturing of the car plus a single serial number and gives us much information about the car:




The engine serial number is located on the block, in the lower right side. The first four digits of this serial is the type of engine: 1200cc

As a general rule remember that the network distribution engines have a different front and cover those belt as well as the position of the oil filter is perpendicular to the side of the engine.

Lada Classic History of our LADA (last part)

Although in some countries like Costa Rica and Ecuador classic Lada models were imported from of the 70, in most Latin American countries the import in large volumes started from the 90's.

This was due in part to the Western European market, consuming these cars, primarily France, Ireland, Germany, Britain and the Nordic countries where they are very appreciated to keep operating at very low temperatures, began to restrict their importation because they did not comply with new emissions standards that became effective in the European community.

My personal experience is that cars are very well constructed, with materials in most cases (other web sites except maybe the plastic) and were manufactured to meet all requirements Europeans of the time in fuel economy, emissions, active and passive safety, etc.

Spartans are nice cars that come with the right equipment and necessary, but if you care to do preventive maintenance in the manner stated in the manual, systems fail and do not always respond.
Ultimately if you got lucky enough to have a Lada Classic or are thinking about buying one, remember that you Rusito be liable to the extent of care time and care that you spend.

History of our LADA (third)

Hello friends, today I would like to tell you about the different family models in the Classic or Zhiguli, are grouped in this family because they all have the same origin, Fiat 124 and Lada derived from the first model: the Lada 2101 .


The common characteristics all cars of this family would be:

  • as mechanics, manufacturing and spare parts are very similar knowledge of the generalities of a model can work in another without significant inconvenience

Vaz in 1976 introduced an updated version of 2103, with slightly different interior and a new 1600cc engine (76 HP). Was manufactured between 76 and 2001. Its engine is the 1.6 that drives many of our Lada 2105, 2104 and 2107 here in Latin America and in fact were imported into our continent in the early 80's and early 90's. This model is highly sought after because of its classic style and sophistication of their internal details.

Russia as the "five", is looking to have a more modern style in harmony with the style of the 80's, new bodywork and unique square headlights also made squares. History of our LADA (second part) of our LADA

History (Part One)


I invite you to also go back to middle of the decade of 60 in the former Soviet Union wherein political, economic and technological suffered a great delay in the manufacture of automobiles.

The two traditional Russian factories and GAZ Moskvitch cars industrially produced but in small quantities in relation to domestic demand, high prices and with systems technical mechanisms aged.


In 1965 the Soviet leadership took the decision to modernize the production of automobiles in the country seeking to reduce costs, increase production, creating the "people's car" Soviet and adequate to meet domestic demand.


For this they needed a new state company manufactures automotive and building a model to size and with adequate facilities to manufacture the new car.
